Great Georgian theater and film actor Ramaz Chkhikvadze died at the age of 83 last night. As the Tbilisi City Hall told Trend, a special commission has been created that will deal with all issues of funeral and will pay all funeral expenses.
Chkhikvadze will be buried in Didube Pantheon, next to his late wife Natasha Chkhikvadze, who died two months ago. Recently, the actor was ill and underwent treatment in the Czech Republic.
Chkhikvadze was recognized as one of the best performers of theater roles. He also starred in many films of the Soviet period, as well as in independent Georgian cinema with many memorable roles.
Chkhikvadze was Honored and People's Artist of Georgia.
