07 October 2011 [15:46] - TODAY.AZ
The Georgian side expects that during his visit to Tbilisi French President Nicolas Sarkozy will voice important messages for Georgia, Deputy Georgian Foreign Minister Tornike Gordadze said at a news conference on Friday.

He said first of all Georgia expects Nicolas Sarkozy to voice his position on the fulfillment of the agreement which was signed under his mediation three years ago.

Russia and France agreed on six principles of resolution of conflicts in Georgia at the talks in the Kremlin on Aug.20, 2008. These principles include non-use of force, ceasing all hostilities, allowing free access to humanitarian aid, etc. The sixth principle envisages initiating international discussions over ensuring the security of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

"We expect a clear message to the address of the Russian leadership regarding the quality of the fulfillment of the agreements reached with Sarkozy's direct participation three years ago," Gordadze said.

He also stressed that the French President's visit is of great importance for the development of relations between Georgia and the EU.
