Tbilisi to host meeting of TRACECA permanent secretariat

Today, Tbilisi will host a meeting of the permanent secretariat of the inter-governmental commission of TRACECA, the Economy Ministry of Georgia said Wednesday.

The meeting will be attended by national secretaries of the 13 TRACECA member-countries. The meeting will be opened by secretary-general of the permanent secretariat Edward Biryukov.

The meeting will focus on the implementation of projects within the TRACECA program. In addition, a meeting of the working group on improving the competitiveness of the TRACECA transport corridor will be held.

The event will be attended by representatives from the ministries of transport, ports and railways of the TRACECA member-countries.

The main theme of the meeting is to develop a tariff policy of TRACECA (Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor) and the competitiveness of the corridor.

TRACECA is an international transport cooperation program between the EU and its Partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. It has a permanent Secretariat in Baku, Azerbaijan. The cooperation framework covers the areas of maritime transport, aviation, road and rail, transport security, and transport infrastructure.
