Armenian MOD to send special commission to military unit

19 September 2011 [15:08] - TODAY.AZ
On the alarm raised by the "We Will Not Keep Silent" youth initiative, the Armenian Ministry of Defense will dispatch a special commission to an Armenian military unit where there is a problem with respect to granting furlough to soldiers, News.am reported.

The initiative had received information concerning serious problems, in a military unit, linked to furloughs being granted to the soldiers. A conscript serving in the said unit informed the initiative that no furlough is granted to the soldiers unless the "proper telephone call" is made, and even if that call is made, the furlough is granted for fewer days than the law stipulates. Two other conscripts, who are serving in different subdivisions of the same military unit, also confirmed this information to the youth initiative.
