Iranian military plane crashed in Tabriz

An Iranian military aircraft has crashed near the airport in Tabriz, Mehr New Agency reported.

A pilot has ejected before the plane crashed. According to the Agency, he did not get injured. No reports have been yet received about other pilot’s presence, plane’s model and damages caused to the area.

The second stage of the Velayet-3 Air Defense drills has today been launched in Tabriz. Saegeh, F4 and F5 fighter, as well as a C-130 tactical cargo plane are involved in the second stage.

Different plane equipments, ammunitions and tactics will go under test in four phases during the 10-day exercises started in Northwestern Iran on Sept. 6.

An array of fighter jets, fighter bombers, cargo and transportation planes, including F-4, F-5, SU-24 fighter-bombers, Mig-29 and the logistic C-130 planes, will be used in the exercises.
