Iran begins testing military aircraft in war games

06 September 2011 [20:38] - TODAY.AZ
Iran began testing its military aircraft in a first phase of war games on Tuesday, dpa reported with reference to IRNA.

During the 10-day war games, different types of Iranian aircraft - including the domestically manufactured Saeqeh (Thunderbolt) - will be tested.

The armed forces have increased their manoeuvres following renewed speculation about possible Israeli airstrikes against the country's nuclear sites.

Tehran says its army is not trained to attack another country, but Western states fear that Iran could launch a missile strike against Israel. Its Shahab missiles reportedly have a range of 2,000 kilometres, making them capable of reaching any part of the Jewish state.
