05 September 2011 [15:54] - TODAY.AZ
Iran will never stop fighting against the PJAK, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesman Hamid Ahmadi said, the Journalist Club Agency reported.

Ahmadi said, the first precondition for cease-fire with the PJAK is abandoning Iran’s borders. "Otherwise, ceasefire makes no sense at all," he underlined.

He noted that 30 PJAK members were killed and more than 40 were injured during the last operation against the group.

On Saturday, the IRGC has started the last military operation by against PJAK in the north-western region of the country.

The Iranian wing of the Kurdish faction of the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) is active in the Iranian province of Kurdistan. The goal of the group is the secession of Kurdistan from Iran.

According to the U.S. authorities, acting on the Iranian-Turkish and the Iranian-Iraqi borders the PJAK Party is controlled by the separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which the U.S. considers a terrorist organization.

In February 2009, the U.S. Treasury Department included PJAK into the list of terrorist groups. In addition, financial sanctions were imposed against it.
