Iran says faces no problem in detecting radar-evading systems

05 September 2011 [13:36] - TODAY.AZ
An Iranian senior military official said the country faces no problem in detecting radar-evading systems, ISNA reported.

"We have no problem in detection and location of radar-evading systems. We have designed radars in frequency bands that incase of one radar's failure in detecting the stealth object, another one is able to accomplish it," Mohammad Hossein Shamkhali told ISNA Saturday.

He also highlighted Iran's position in building advanced systems and radars in the Middle East and said is ready to export some pieces of the equipment to other countries.

"No regional country can provide radars with higher quality than our radars and we are included in the top ten countries with the capability of building radar, surveillance and detection systems," the official continued.

The Iranian official said, "Iran plans to construct a missile system possessing higher quality than Russian S-300 system," adding, "Technically, features of Iran's locally-designed system (named S-200) are more advanced and more qualified than features of S-300 missile system and it can be used in both low and high altitudes for all objectives. It will be also useful for targets which could not be hit by S-300."

Shamkhali added the new Iranian-built system includes all technical specifications of S-300 missile system and it also enjoys other capabilities as well. "The system we are designing is anti-missile and anti-ballistic missiles."

The Iranian official also presented further details on S-200 missile system and said, "We have taken out all lamp systems of defense systems and substituted them with transistor systems which hold more advantages including less harmful radiations and systems' less mass and weight."
