PSEEZ director: Sanctions fail to affect Iran oil industry

03 September 2011 [13:11] - TODAY.AZ
The sanctions have not affected the South Pars development plan, the managing director of the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) Seyyed Pirouz Mousavi said, the Tehran Times reported with reference to Fars news agency.

"Iran’s oil industry is heading for success despite Western sanctions," Mousavi said.

Previously, the Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Javad Owji had also said that Iran’s oil and gas output has risen considerably in recent years.

"Iran’s current daily gas output is 600 million cubic meters, which will be doubled to 1.2 billion cubic meters in the coming years," Owji said.

Owji stated that despite the harsh sanctions imposed on the oil sector, Iran is now self-sufficient in oil industry and capable of manufacturing any equipment needed by the industry.
