Iran to privatize 7 refineries

Iran will sell shares of 7 refineries to private sector in current solar year(started on March20,2011), SHANA reported quoting Deputy Oil Minister Alierza Zeyghami as saying.

"Total of 7 refineries out of 9 will join private sector in current year while shares of sub companies at National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company will assign to private sector," he said.

Economy Minister Shamsoldin Hosseini said earlier Iran’s privatization of public organizations and companies during past five years increased 31 time Iran’s and private sector eager to buy power plants, refineries, petrochemical and airlines and insurance companies,

So far Iran assigned ownership of banks and Steel companies to private sector.

Previously deputy of Parliament industrial commission Ahmad Mahdavi said Iran’s Industries are almost halted due to lack of financial sources while only 13 percent the privatization process done on Last solar year (ended on March20,2011) was real.
