The meeting of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and ruling coalition is schedule for August 23, head of the ruling delegation MP Davit Harutunyan told News.am.
Commenting on delay in the meeting previously scheduled for August 19, Harutunyan said it was postponed due to technical reasons.
Asked whether the meeting is likely to be postponed taking into account ANC’s statement that the arrest of young activists hampers the dialogues, Harutunyan said they just agreed to postpone the meeting, nothing more. "The meeting will take place tomorrow under previous agreement," he added.
Policemen detained seven opposition activists on August 9. On August 12, 2011, Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative court of general jurisdiction ruled against Tigran Arakelyan, Sargis Karapetyan and Artak Gevorgyan sentencing them to two months detention, yet the other activists were released on recognizance.
