Iran and Russia will cooperate in the construction of nuclear power plants in Iran, in addition to the Bushehr plant, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Firudin Abbasi was quoted as saying by the Khabaronline website.
He said that the sides held negotiations, on whose results Moscow has made several proposals to Tehran.
"We will negotiate until we reach concrete results. All future projects will be implemented taking into account the interests of both countries", Abbasi said.
However, he did not name the exact name of the plant to be built and where it will be located, the TV channel France 24 reported, referring to the Iranian media.
Iran has recently expressed the desire to build 10 to 20 nuclear power plants, an enterprise for uranium enrichment, and a nuclear technology center on its territory. Iran announced a tender in 2007 for construction of two nuclear power plants, one of which will be located on the border with Iraq.
Russia completes commissioning work for the Busher plant. The Russian side will supply nuclear fuel for the nuclear power plant.
