Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist group issued a statement Saturday on its website in which it admitted sabotage on the Iran-Turkey gas pipeline.
PKK said that the explosion at the pipeline five kilometers from Turkish city of Agri had been carried out by its elements, IRNA quoted Turkish News Agency Cihan as saying.
It also said that the members of the group had destroyed four vehicles, including one construction vehicle.
Meanwhile, the group also accepted responsibility for another blast on August 3, 2011 in Botash Pipeline in Turkey's Mardin province.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the banned PKK took up arms in 1984 to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. Some 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the PKK in the past over two decades.
