PKK attack injures 7 Turkish people

PKK attacked a military vehicle and injured 7 people, four of them soldiers, near Gomec village in Hani town in southeastern province of Diyarbakir on Monday.

Governor Mustafa Toprak said troops, acting on a tip off, went to rural area of Gomec village and seized 600,000 root cannabis sativa.

Toprak said the militants attacked the vehicle which was returning after destroying the cannabis sativa.

Toprak said, "two non-commissioned officers, two privates, the headman, an agriculture technician and one person suspected drug dealer were injured in the attack."

An operation is underway in the region
