Turkish airlines starts cargo flight to Budapest

19 July 2011 [11:48] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), has launched cargo flight to Budapest, Hungary.

Speaking to AA correspondent on Monday, THY's director in Hungary Levend Arisoy said that they launched Istanbul-Budapest-Istanbul cargo flight once a week as of July 16.

The cargo flights will take place on Saturdays, he said.

Arisoy said that the cargo flight would also contribute to trade volume between Turkey and Hungary.

Based in Istanbul, THY is one of the fastest growing airline companies in the world. A Star Alliance member carrying approximately 25 million passengers a year, THY posted 286 million Turkish lira net profit in 2010.

THY has been recently named the Best Airline in Europe by London-based research organization in air travel, Skytrax.
