Eight new hydroelectric power stations to be built in Georgia by late 2011

The eight new power plants will be built in Georgia till late 2011, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Giorgi Kavelashvili told media.

He said that there are investors for all eight hydroelectric power stations, including Dariali, Larsi, Shilda and three hydroelectric power stations Namahvani.

About $1 billion will be invested in the construction of hydroelectric power stations Namahvani, carried out by Nurol Energy Production (Turkish company) and SK Engineering and Construction (Korean company).

The total investment volume of eight hydroelectric power station is $ 1.5 billion.
