A NATO-Georgia joint conference on "New Security Challenges" will be held in Tbilisi from July 7-8.

The purpose of this conference, supported by the NATO security program and "Science for Peace" program, is to bring together experts, scientific circles, industry experts and policy analysts from NATO and partner countries to discuss safety issues (cyber security, energy security and terrorism).

The participants must also determine the measures to strengthen precautions and resistance to the emerging security risks and propose research projects within the NATO security and "Science for Peace" program.

A NATO delegation has already arrived in Georgia this morning. The head of the delegation, NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges Gabor Iklody said that the conference will bring together over 100 representatives from NATO and partner countries.

"The main theme of our meeting will be cyber and energy security," Iklody said.
