Turkey announces new government

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, leader of Justice and Development Party (AKP), which gained 49.9% of votes in the parliamentary elections on June 12, submitted the list of the new Cabinet of Ministers to President Abdullah Gul, APA reports.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan made public the new Cabinet list. The new Cabinet is as follows:


Recep Tayyip Erdogan – Prime Minister

Bulent Arinc – Deputy Prime Minister

Ali Babacan - Deputy Prime Minister

Beshir Atalay - Deputy Prime Minister

Bekir Bozdag - Deputy Prime Minister

Sadullah Ergin – Justice Minister

Fatma Sahin – Minister of Family and Social Policy

Egemen Bagis – Minister of European Union

Nihat Ergun – Minister of Science, Industry and Technology

Faruk Celik – Minister of Labor and Social Protection

Erdogan Bayraktar – Minister of Ecology and City Building

Ahmet Davutoglu – Minister of Foreign Affairs

Zafer Caglayan – Minister of Economy

Taner Yildiz – Minister of Energy and Natural Resources

Suat Kilic – Minister of Youth and Sport

Mehdi Aker – Minister of Food, Agriculture & Stockbreeding

Hayati YAzici – Minister of Customs and Trade

Idris Naim Sahin – Interior MINister

Covdet Yilmaz – Minister of Development

Ertogrul Gunay – Minister of Culture and Tourism

Mehmet Simsek – Minister of Finance

Omer Dincer – Minister of Education

Ismet Yilmaz – Minister of Defense

Veysel Eroglu – Minister of Forestry and Water Management

The new Cabinet will officially take office after the confidence vote at the parliament.
