The UN General Assembly voted on June 29 for a resolution on the status of IDPs and refugees from Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region.
Georgia's Permanent Representative to the UN Alexander Lomaia told media that 57 countries voted for this decision or 7 countries more than last year.
The resolution on the initiative of the Georgian side is submitted for an annual session of the UN General Assembly. The number of countries, supporting it, annually increases.
The document is of a humanitarian character, rather than political.
