Former Deputy FM arrested in Iran

Former Deputy Foreign Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh was arrested in Iran , Fars news agency reported .

On June 18, Malekzadeh was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister for financial affairs. La ter, on June 21, he announced about his resignation.

On June 21, some Iranian members of the parliament signed a scroll to impeach Foreign Minster Aliakbar Salehi because of appointing Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh as deputy of administrative and financial affairs.

Malekzadeh, whom High Advisor to the President and Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office Esfandiyar Rahim Mashaei appointed earlier as the Secretary-General of the High Council of Iranian Affairs Abroad, is charged in corruption and law-violence.

Recently, Iranian Judicature System started massive investigations about some corruption dossiers about officials close to Mashaei. First Vice president Mohammad Reza Rahimi, Vise president Hamid Baghaei and some of seniors charged in corruption.
