Nancy Pelosi, the US Congress minority leader, Democrat from the state of California, for the first time has agreed to meet with the representatives of Turkish Diaspora, The Diaspora members informed.

Pelosi, who is known for her strong pro-Armenian position and support to the “Armenian genocide” issue, has agreed to meet the Turkish Diaspora sometime in the coming days.

“Although we don’t expect her to change her opinion on certain issues right away, this is a very important and even a historical meeting for our Diasporas”, Mustafa Yilmaz, Turkish Diaspora representative, said.

According to him, Turkish Diaspora is going to let Nancy Pelosi know about Turkey and Azerbaijan’s position on a number of issues that Armenia always presents from its own viewpoint.

“We are also going to talk to her about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the damage the Armenians caused to Azerbaijan. We really hope for some understanding and maybe a chance for more future meetings”, Yilmaz added.
