Iran is ready to dispel suspicions about its nuclear program if the IAEA fulfills the obligations taken within the joint action plan, Iranian official Ali Askar Sultaniye, said in an exclusive interview to RT TV channel.
"If the IAEA fulfills the obligations, taken within the joint action plan, namely, lifts all the charges associated with the so-called 'U.S Notebook,' then Iran will be ready to answer any questions and dispel any suspicions concerning the presence of the military aspects in Iran's nuclear program," he said.
"I reiterate, we are ready to lift any questions, but this must be done through the IAEA and at the technical level, without politicization," he said. "The sooner the UN Security Council ceases to interfere in this process with its political statements, the better all this only complicates the situation."
He said the UN Security Council resolutions on Iran are not legal and cannot be executed.
"It was a historic mistake to involve the UN in the affairs of the IAEA," he said. "As soon as the intervention is completed, it will open a new chapter in our cooperation. I assure you that all of these sanctions had no influence on our work on uranium enrichment."
However, he said that Iran stands for the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
"We strongly support the NPT for universality," he said. "We realize that the NPT originally had certain discrimination. But it is the only non-proliferation treaty, approaching the universal status. We stand for its support."
