Turkey industrial employment up in Q1 2011

Employment in the industrial sector in Turkey was up 6.2% in the first quarter of 2011 over the same period a year earlier, Turkish statistics authority, TurkStat, said on Thursday.

The figure also saw an increase of 0.4% over the previous quarter as three-month Industrial Employment Index was 103.1 points.

Hours worked in Q1 2011 was up 6.5% over same term a year earlier and index was 101.6 points.

Gross wage-salary index also increased 15.2% year-on-year up to 173.4 points.
