Iranian opposition leader died

Chairman of the opposition National Religious Activists Council of Iran, one of the opposition leaders Izzatollah Sahabi died, Iranian İLNA news agency reported.

Sahabi died at 2:10 tonight at Mudarris hospital in Tehran. He suffered a heart an attack and which lapsed into a coma on April 29.

Sahabi began his political activities in 1953. Before and after the Iranian Islamic Revolution, he spent a total of 15 years in prison. Sahabi is one of the founders of the Party of Liberation Movement of Iran . After the Iranian Islamic revolution, he served as chairman of the Budget and Planning Organization of Iran and was Iranian MP. Sahabi was arrested after the 2009 presidential elections in Iran. He was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment.
