Western states spreading terrorism worldwide: Iranian defense minister

Western states were the source of spreading terrorism worldwide, Minister of Defense Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi said, IRNA reported.

The minister added that western states were violating the territorial integrity of other countries through occupying and destroying them under the pretext of fighting against terrorism.

His remarks were made in a meeting with President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of Mauritania where he arrived on Monday on the first leg of his two-nation tour which is to take him later to Bolivia.

The meeting was held in the city of Nouakchott, capital city of Mauritania.

The Iranian minister also conveyed the warm greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran to his Mauritanian counterpart who called for expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two capitals.

President Abdel Aziz stressed that Muslim states are required to close their ranks due to the present international situation.
