Turkish prime minister to visit Georgia

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will make a visit to Georgia on May 31, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze said to a press conference yesterday.

She said together with the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, Turkish Prime Minister will open a new customs office in Sarpi.

"The sides have agreed upon this after the ties between the two countries became intense, and trade relations deepened. Construction of the customs infrastructure was carried out intensively," Kalandadze said.

She said during his visit, Turkish Prime Minister will discuss with the President of Georgia current bilateral relations between the two countries.

"Turkey is our number one trade partner, and it is very important to reach an agreement on the joint customs points," Kalandadze said.
