Antalya visitors up 31%

Antalya, Turkey's top holiday destination on the Mediterranean coast, has drawn more than 1.5 tourists since the beginning of the year.

Recent developments in northern Africa had a negative impact on Egyptian and Tunisian tourism while they increased foreign tourists' interest in southern Turkey.

A total of 1,502,315 tourists came to Antalya in the first four months of year. This number indicates a 30.77 percent rise over the same period of 2010.

In the January-April period, 185,098 Russian tourists visited Antalya with an increase of 105.7 percent.

Number of German tourists rose to 531,083 while number of Iranian tourists increased to 45,832 and number of Finnish tourists rose to 21,394.
