09 May 2011 [09:15] - TODAY.AZ
Unity and "adherence to the guidelines of Velayat-e-Faqih" (rule of just jurisprudence) have foiled enemy plots against the Islamic Republic, Brigadier General Yadollah Javani said on Saturday, Press TV reported with reference to IRNA.

"The Iranian nation's vigilance and their recognition of the leadership as the flag-bearer of the path of obedience to God have thwarted plots against the country," told Javani, a senior commander at the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps (IRGC).

The general also said that the Islamic Revolution in Iran set an example for the recent popular Islamic movements in the region.

Referring to recent remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, he said that the Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa will spread to Europe and the US as well.

He said that the enemy was seeking to forestall Islamic revolutions in the region since it was afraid of unity among Muslim countries in the region as well as losing its interests.

On Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa will spread to the "heart of Europe and America."

Ayatollah Khamenei also reiterated that the current Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa is the continuation of the great move by the Iranian nation and said "The current awakening reflects the depth of the great movement [initiated] by the Iranian nation."

The Leader expressed confidence that the Islamic Republic would "conquer peaks of prosperity and progress" due to the strong faith and determination of the Iranian nation.
