Turkey auto industry aims 22-23 bln USD of exports in 2011

Turkey's automotive industry aims at 22-23 billion USD of exports in 2011, a sectoral association said on Friday.

Omer Burhanoglu, the deputy chairman of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters' Association, said that the automotive industry raised its exports by 16 percent to 17.3 billion USD in 2010.

"We aim to raise our exports to 22-23 billion USD this year," Burhanoglu told AA correspondent.

Burhanoglu said the association expected the positive course in automotive industry in the first quarter of the year to continue till the end of this year.

The deputy chairman forecast Turkey's overall exports to be around 130-135 billion USD by the end of 2011.
