Tehran hosts meeting of heads of ECO anti-corruption bodies

The meeting of the heads of the anti-corruption bodies - members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be held in Tehran on May 20, spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Kazakhstan Hussein Amidi said.

He said that Iranian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Gurban Seyfi met with the head of the Kazakh Agency for Combating Economic and Corruption Crimes Kairat Kozhamzharov. "The ambassador conveyed the official invitation to the chief of the agency from the Chairman of the General Inspection Office of Iran, the organization associated with the judicial system, Mustafa Pirmuhammedi to attend a meeting in Tehran," he said.

The ambassador spoke about the importance of combating corruption and the role of the Iranian Main Inspection Department on Combating Corruption in the country.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kozhamzharov provided the information about the tasks and powers of the organization. He said that he will attend the upcoming meeting in Tehran. "The meeting in Tehran will contribute to enhancing the cooperation in the fight against economic and corruption crimes," he said.
