CE Human Rights Commissar: No investigation of killings of people during March 2008 events in Armenia carried out

No investigation in connection with the killings of people during March 2008 events in Armenia was carried out, said Thomas Hammarberg, the CE Human Rights Commissar. He was replying question of British parliamentarian John Prescott after him-prepared annual actions report read on the third day of the PACE spring plenary session.

"Regretfully, no investigation in connection with the killings of dozens of people during March 2008 events in Armenia was carried out. We keep this issue on the focus of attention. We also pay particular attention to the freedom of speech in Armenia. Report concerning Armenia most likely will be read at the October session of the PACE", Hammarberg noted.

He said he would tour Georgia the next week.
