Iran to unveil hybrid Bus, vessel

Iranian Fuel Conservation Company (IFCO) has announced plans to unveil a newly-designed hybrid bus and vessel at Tehran's 16th international oil and gas exposition, PRESS TV reported.

IFCO managing director Abbas Kazemi said hybrid engines reduce fuel consumption in buses by nearly 50 percent and greatly reduce greenhouse gas emission in large urban areas, SHANA reported on Sunday.

The company said its domestically designed and manufactured a hybrid vessel, which can be used for fishing and transport, will be on display at the exhibition as well.Tehran's 16th International Oil, Gas Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition will be held at the city's permanent fairgrounds from April 16-19, 2011.

Some 460 companies from 40 foreign countries will be participating in the exhibition which represents a great increase compared to the previous year, SHANA reported.The exhibition is expected to increase foreign investment in the country's oil and natural gas sectors.

The government has called for USD 200 billion in foreign direct investment as part of the country's fifth five-year national development program.
