Turkey's foreign debt in last five years increase by $120.5 bln

Turkey's foreign debt in the last five years increased by 120.5 billion USD and reached a figure of 290.3 billion USD.

In the same term, the public sector's foreign debt increased by 18.5 billion USD while the private sector's foreign debt increased by 105.5 billion USD.

Between 2005 and 2010, the foreign debt of municipalities went up to 1.2 billion USD. The Municipality of north-western province of Istanbul was the one with most foreign debt and owed 197 million USD.

The public bank with the greatest foreign debt was Halk Bankasi and the bank owed 1.03 billion USD.
