Turkish company plans to invest $5 million in recycling household waste in Tbilisi

Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava is attending the Forum of Asian countries’ mayors, which is underway in Istanbul. The event aims at deepening the cooperation between the cities - participants of the conference.

Ugulava will address the local self-government’s meeting and speak about carrying out reforms. Prior to that, Tbilisi mayor met with the Turkish businessmen.

At the meeting, Halkal Kagit Concern’s leadership voiced its intention to invest $5 million in recycling household waste in Tbilisi.

Ugulava said the Georgian side is ready to continue consultations on this proposal. "Those who will be involved in this business will surely receive the economic benefit," he said.

Halkal Kagit leadership states that it will be their first investment in Tbilisi.
