Yerevan Municipality official caught while taking $1000 bribe

Officers of Armenia’s National Security Service have caught a Yerevan Municipality official as he was about to take a bribe.

Arthur Stepanosyan, the acting officer of the Department of Architecture and Urban Development at the Yerevan Municipality, demand and received $1000 from a Yerevan resident in return for an illegal deal.

According to Armenia’s National Security Service, Arthur Stepanosyan had promised the Yerevan resident to provide him with documents that would legalize his ownership to a site near his house he had occupied illegally.

A criminal case has been launched, and an investigation is underway.
