Swedish embassy opens in Tbilisi

A Swedish embassy opened today in Tbilisi. Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, along with members of the Georgian government and diplomatic representatives were in attendance during the ceremony.

In his remarks Bildt expressed satisfaction over the opening of his country’s diplomatic mission in Georgia. He articulated his hopes that the embassy will help facilitate the growth of bilateral relations.

"We have a lot to do together - Georgia's democratic development, economic reform and territorial integrity. Georgia is growing rapidly, trying to enter the European Union and the global world space. Sweden is ready to help it in this," Bildt said.
