Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Monday that, in case a list was made for countries with most violation of human rights, Israel would be on top of that list.

Speaking at a press conference in Ankara's Esenboga International Airport prior to his departure for Geneva where he will attend a UN Human Rights Council meeting, Davutoglu said that everyone had to believe in the equality of all humans.

UN Human Rights Council is the highest one in the UN mechanism when it comes to human rights. Turkey plays an active role in this Council, Davutoglu said.

Turkey, formerly a country watched about human rights, now pursues a policy to carry global standards on human rights to higher levels, Davutoglu noted.

We have an human rights diplomacy. I will focus on such diplomacy in Monday's meeting in Geneva, Davutoglu said.

Touching on the recent developments in Libya, Davutoglu said that it was crucial for Libya to begin a new term which respected human rights and fulfilled the demands of the Libyan people.

We do not have a conviction that everyone must leave Libya, Davutoglu added.
