A group of people have illegally pumped oil from the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline in Erzurum province of Turkey. Then the thieves sold the stolen oil in kerosene lamps, according to “Erzurum Gazetesi” newspaper.
This issue has already been resolved. BP spokesman in Turkey Murat Lecompte said “the incident occurred at evening time on December 6 and did not have serious impact on oil supply.”
Turkey’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz has stated that security of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline has been tightened.
