Armenian parliament fails to recognize so-called "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic"

09 December 2010 [17:41] - TODAY.AZ
Armenian parliament has failed to pass a bill recognizing independence of the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.”

According to Armenian media, majority of MPs refrained from participating in the voting. Head of the faction of the ruling Republican Party Galust Sahakian stated that the coalition has changed its stance since the last vote.

He noted that recognition of "NKR" is inappropriate at this stage. Only 13 MPs, members of the Heritage Party and Dashnaktsyutun, voted for the bill. The law was not passed as a result.
