Yerevan mayor leaves office

Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan submitted resignation on December 8. The text of Mayor's resignation is yet unclear.

Earlier, Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan brutally beat an employee of the protocol department of the Armenian presidential staff, Aram Kandayan.

Spokesperson for the Armenian President Armen Arzumanyan officially confirmed that the incident took place.

“Armenian President has repeatedly expressed his opinion on such deeds. This behavior is unacceptable, especially in case of officials,” he said.
