Turkish minister inaugurates Azerbaijan Health Fair

Turkish State Minister Faruk Nafiz Ozak attended a meeting of sport ministers of Council of Europe member states in Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
Ministers and representatives in ministerial level from 36 countries attend the meeting.

In an exclusive interview with the A.A correspondent, Ozak said the participants assessed manipulation of competitions, doping, violence, autonomy, training of youth and importance of sports. Ozak said there were problems on match fixing and provocation, adding that match fixing and promotion would become a judicial punishment for the first time in Turkey when the problems on the matter were overcome.

Ozak said the problems would not end when the law on the matter is enacted, "this is a matter of discipline. Prevention of violence in sports is a process that should start before school. Of course this should be supported by everybody, the civil society and media."

Ozak also said legal works were underway to establish a special doping agency "TADA" in Turkey. Ozak inaugurated the 16th International Azerbaijan Health Fair on Wednesday. Minister Ozak was accompanied by the Deputy Health Minister of Azerbaijan Elsever Agayev at the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ozak said that Turkey was proud with Azerbaijan's development.

"Azerbaijan's achievements are Turkey's achievements and vice versa," Ozak stressed.

105 companies from 19 countries are attending the Health Fair in Baku. There are 10 Turkish companies at the Health Fair. The 16th International Azerbaijan Health Fair will remain open for two days.
