Turkic-speaking countries' top diplomats gather in Istanbul

As part of the 10th summit of the Turkish-speaking countries' Heads of State, a meeting of foreign ministers of the Turkish-speaking countries was held at the Ciragan palace in Istanbul on September 15.
Prior to the meeting, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov. The sides underlined the importance of the 10th summit of the Turkish-speaking countries' Heads of State. They praised what had been done since the 9th summit in Nakhchivan. The ministers also exchanged views on the current state of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, regional and international issues.

Later, Azeri top diplomat Elmar Mammadyarov joined the meeting of foreign ministers also attended by Foreign Ministers Ahmet Davutoglu of Turkey, Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan, Ruslan Kazakbayev of Kyrgyzstan, Kanat Saudabayev of Kazakhstan.

Starting the meeting with opening remarks, Davutoglu said heads of foreign offices are attending the “historic” summit. The General Secretriat of the Cooperation Council of Turkish-speaking countries is going to be set up to implement important education, culture and social programs, he added.
