Representative of UN Secretary-General on human rights of IDP's to visit Caucasus

The representative of UN Secretary-General on the human rights of internally displaced persons Professor Walter Kälin will visit the South Caucasus region on September 13-18. After the meetings in Tbilisi, he will go to Sukhumi and Gali. Kälin will conclude his trip to the region visiting Yerevan.

During his visit, the expert will get familiar with the situation of internally displaced persons affected by conflicts in the region. At meetings with the authorities and representatives of the civil society issues dealing refugees will be discussed. At the end of the visit on 16 September at 15 o'clock a press conference will host in the UN House in Tbilisi.

Walter Kälin is a professor of the University of Bern and since 2004 works the representative of the Secretary-General on the human rights of internally displaced persons.
