GUAM, Japan discuss development of tourism

A periodical meeting on tourism took place in GUAM Secretariat as part of the GUAM-Japan cooperation on Aug. 30, according to official website of GUAM.
GUAM Secretary General Mr. Valeriy Chechelashvili, Program Coordinator Mr. Sabuhi Temirov, Head of Division Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine Mr. A.Shenin, representative of touristic company “Hermes Travel” Ms. G.Osipenko, representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Ms. I. Lomidze, Georgia touristic administration Ms. R.Mamatsashvili and touristic company “Vanilla Sky” Ms. M.Ramishvili attended the meeting.

Representatives of Japan Embassy in Ukraine Mr. D.Kitade, Japanese International Cooperation Agencies Ms. Y.Doi and Evolutional Tourism Institute professor Mr. T.Kobayashi represented the Japanese side.

Japanese representatives informed participants about results of their trips to Azerbaijan and Ukraine and gave their recommendations for improvement of tourist product for attracting Japanese tourists.

The meeting discussed a number of issues, including implementation of Action Plan for developing of common touristic product adopted during the meeting of GUAM Working Group on Tourism at the level of the Heads of respective Institutions in Baku, joint participation of GUAM travel agencies in the Japanese World Travel Fair JATA WTF 2010 (24-26th September, Tokyo), content, timing and format of oncoming Tourist Training Seminar in Japan, Agenda of the next Meeting of Working Group on Tourism.
