Turkey wants to see Turkmenistan in joint Turkic assembly

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin received Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamuhammet Muhammedow and an accompanying delegation in Ankara on Wednesday.

Delivering a speech in the meeting, Sahin said that Turkmenistan has been a stable country with its policies in its region since it gained independence. Muhammedow's visit would contribute to ties between Turkey and Turkmenistan, he said.

Sahin said Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries was established by Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and they wanted to see Turkmenistan's parliament speaker in this assembly. The two countries should make good use of a potential in the area of energy, he added.
