OSCE PA president: Armenia is to blame for protraction of Nagorno-Karabakh peace process

10 July 2010 [09:19] - TODAY.AZ
Armenia is more responsible for dragging out the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, stated President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares, who is completing his terms.
He noted there are good opportunities for peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Soares said Armenia's domestic policy was dealing with problems. Soares stressed influence of the Armenian diaspora is strong. According to him, it is a factor making resolution of the conflict complicated.

Saying he sees a will and strength for peace in the Azerbaijan government, Soares considers the problem lies with the Armenian party. According to Soares, if Armenians take necessary steps, it will end with opening of borders with Turkey. Advantaged Armenians living abroad must not define the policy of Yerevan. Although proposals on the table are not optimal, but they are good, he added.
