Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki sent a letter, which contained a warning to European countries about the tightening of sanctions against Iran's nuclear program and possible negative consequences to the European Union, according to ISNA news agency.
According to available information, the letter was delivered to the EU officials. The letter also states that the imposition of sanctions against Iran will inflict more damage to European countries compared to Iran. The UN Security Council voted to approve a new resolution, which provides for tougher sanctions against Tehran in connection with its refusal to turn its uranium enrichment activity on June 9.
This is the 4th resolution adopted by the UN Security Council due to Tehran's refusal to comply with international requirements concerning the clarification of several issues of the world community over the Iranian nuclear program, including the existence of its military component.
