U.S. President Barack Obama also wanted to talk to Erdogan, officials said.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon spoke with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan by phone on Tuesday. Officials said that UN Secretary General Ban had a phone conversation with Erdogan regarding the latest developments. U.S. President Barack Obama also wanted to talk to Erdogan, officials said.

Prime Minister Erdogan cut short his visit to Chile after Israeli navy forces raided a convoy of aid ships of Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza, killing at least 9 people and injuring 30 others.

Erdogan is scheduled to address parliament later on Tuesday to discuss the raid. Ankara has recalled its envoy to Israel. Most of those who Israel killed on the ship are Turks, according to one senior Israeli officer.
