Plain-clothes police to operate in Tehran

Plain-clothes policemen will operate in Tehran to improve security, Tehran Police Chief, Brig Hossein Sajediniya was quoted as saying by Isna.

Sajediniya said plainclothes policemen ensure order at the book fair in Tehran for the second consecutive day and they will to start work in the city tomorrow. Plain-clothes police are law enforcement officers, he said.

They have all the powers, police badges and certificates to prove the identity, Sajediniya said. "The main activities of plain clothes police is to prevent theft and carry out special operations", he said.
