Turkey's energy minister attacked during funeral

Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz attended the funeral of lieutenant Levent Cetinkaya, who lost his life at Gulhane Military Hospital in Ankara after getting heavily wounded in a recent armed attack in the southeastern province of Sirnak.

During the funeral, an assailant attacked Minister Yildiz and punched him in the face.

After the attack, the assailant was immediately detained by the minister's bodyguards.

Meanwhile, Minister Yildiz was hospitalized for treatment.
